{"id":31,"date":"2019-07-11T17:11:47","date_gmt":"2019-07-11T15:11:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/radler-ortho.com\/?page_id=31"},"modified":"2020-06-29T13:10:04","modified_gmt":"2020-06-29T11:10:04","slug":"deformitaeten","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/radler-ortho.com\/en\/orthopaedische-chirurgie\/deformitaeten\/","title":{"rendered":"Deformities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Limb deformities and\/or length discrepancies in <a href=\"https:\/\/radler-ortho.com\/en\/kinder\/\">children, adolescents<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/radler-ortho.com\/en\/erwachsene\/\">adults<\/a> can be congenital or acquired, such as after a bone fracture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of my fields of\nexpertise is the treatment of congenital deformities of the lower limb and\nfoot. Congenital deficiencies, such as fibular hemimelia, congenital femoral\ndeficiency (CFD), and other shortenings and malalignments of the bones, can be\nreconstructed and treated with modern approaches and techniques. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Limb deformities in adults are commonly the result of trauma. The malalignment and limb-length discrepancy can lead to pathologic loading and strain within the affected and surrounding joints, resulting in cartilage degeneration and subsequent limitation of mobility and pain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although physical\ntherapy, braces, and other orthopedic devices can often improve these symptoms\nin more minor cases, surgical solutions can restore the anatomy and function in\nothers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obtaining a detailed\npatient history is the first step toward correct diagnosis. The physical\nexamination, evaluation of the gait pattern, and imaging studies such as\nradiographs (x-rays), magnetic resonance images (MRI), and computed tomographic\n(CT) scans lead to a correct diagnosis and problem list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My personalized\ntherapy and treatment approach aim for the least invasive intervention.\nSurgical solutions are discussed in great detail to make sure that realistic\nexpectations are set for every party involved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of my extensive\nexperience treating children of all ages, I can usually create a relaxed\natmosphere that allows clinical examination and age-related counseling.
